Here are some of the highlights of what we have in store for you this week.

First up is the 2021 repress of Detroit techno legend Robert Hood’s iconic 1994 masterpiece ‘Minimal Nation’ that served as a blueprint and inspiration for multiple generations of techno producers ever since it first came out with its stripped-down, raw sound. Comes on triple white vinyl including CD.

This week’s Friends & Family Chart was selected by legendary Dutch documentary maker and journalist David Kleijwegt, who’s been a major force in the development of Dutch music culture since the nineties, showing a remarkable versatility in subject matters over the decades that followed.

Here are some of the highlights of what we have in store for you this week.

First up is the 2021 repress of Detroit techno legend Robert Hood’s classic Floorplan debut ‘Funky Souls’, originally released on M-Plant subsidiary Drama twenty-five years ago and first reissued by Rush Hour in 2010. The new repress of this timeless dancefloor destroyer comes with new artwork.

SHINEDOE

This week’s friend and family chart comes from the Amsterdam based (and with Nigerian roots) techno DJ Shinedoe. Over the course of two decades she has carved a path into the world of of house and techno that is entirely her own. She has been a frequent visitor in the shop from the early days on untill recently where she, pre-corona, even helped us out in the store occasionally. Check out her current selection!

This week’s RH friends & family chart comes of this venturous gentleman, Wendel Sield. The Amsterdam local, Soulful oriented DJ & producer launched his own label Obia Records last year. He now proudly presents the second installment ‘Code Of Conduct’, produced by himself. Three heavy Chicago flavored club tracks with a nice touch of Acid, that do each their right in their own way.

First up is Suzanne Kraft’s new album for Melody as Truth, a selection of lazy, hazy and gazey pop songs that have ‘summer’ written all over them. Sweet stuff for sunkissed mornings and long hot summer nights.

Gigi Testa hails from Naples and has been putting out fine house music via his World Peace Music for many years as well as promoting events in Napoli with the likes of Theo Parrish, Joe Claussell, Ron Trent to name a few.

Opening proceedings is Niko Tzoukmanis with his beautiful 2013 album ‘Hope is the Sister of Despair’. Previously only released on CD and as a download, this beautifully sultry ambient album was remastered for vinyl from the original master tapes.

Here are some of the highlights of what we have in store for you this week (week 22)

First up is Terrence Dixon’s new album ‘Reporting from Detroit’, Dixon’s first Rush Hour album in seven years and boy, what an album it is! Needless to say we’re exceptionally proud of this one. Fun fact: the first pressing comes with an extra 12” containing two bonus tracks, so get it while you can!
