Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is an eight-piece group with Chicago roots and a current base in New York City. Seven members of the band are brothers; they're the youngest sons of Sun Ra Arkestra member/AACM co-founder Kelan Phil Cohran. Having studied with their father from a young age the brothers have been playing together most of their lives, but it wasnt until 1999 that they came together under their current name. They currently tour with Mos defThis CD has 12 tracks, performed live on the streets of New York, and features 'War' and 'Mercury' which were previously available on a limited 10" record.
