Description
Amsterdam based BlackLabel Records bring their first compilation CD. The CD brings together highlights from the past four years and the year to come from the varied catalogue. Most tracks appear first time on CD, as they are only released or will be released on vinyl.
Since the beginning of BlackLabel, this label is about pushing the boundaries of so-called leftfield electro funk music. The label feels that music is not about a certain style but about a way of handling music. The musical style of the label varies from pure electro music to low-bit punk funk and acid. From Comtron to the David Gilmour Girls (who recently appeared on a Relish Record release). With these musical adventures Amsterdams BlackLabel proves to be a serious competitor to labels as Output, Gomma, DFA, Relish and other leftfield funk-fueled electronic music.
