Description

Eve Aboulkheir's sonic dreaming encased in compact disc attributes, with glistening cover art by Eve herself <3 . HUGE TIP! EXCELLENT RELEASE

SWATHES OF LUCID DREAMS IN SONIC TECHNICOLOR

Like a descent into the dark waters physical and psychic, Hypnagogic Walks is Eve Aboulkheir’s sonic rendering of liminal states. In it, a search for the space between wakefulness and misty somnolence, those wily environments seeped in speculative auras familiar yet intangible. Synthetic palettes and found sounds articulate these landscapes, with alien voices that warble amid swooshes and pulsations that surface and subside like muddled dreams. With these eight tableaux vivants, Eve Aboulkheir spins yet another immersive perceptual trap, sensorially disorientating to the point of shifting reality. Displacement, hypnosis, alternate states of being are induced and guided by textures not always discernible, sounds not immediately graspable. The sonic colors that emerge from these liminal states suggest rather than impose, hinting at realities to be uncovered, at geographies to chart and inhabit.
