After receiving good feedback on Marks track on EMOT 001, EMOT 002 is his debut EP. 'Nevernet' is the cheeky opening track; a frantic jazz beat interlude. 'Lexington Avenue' is a low-slung funky take on abstract house; 'Sit' is a beautiful piece from the Plaid school of tricky modern electronica. '6/8 Ono' opens side B with more superb beat programming and quirky structural tricks, followed by 'Outnumbered': a sublime piece of string laden techno soul. 'Labcoat' closes the EP on a tense, edgy note. Fusing a funk sensibility with an electronic approach, Mark Mclaren is one to watch. For lovers of Ian OBrien, Kirk Degiorgio and Delsin.
