Channel One was set up by the Hookim brothers in the early seventies and it proved to be as influential in that decade as Studio One had been in the sixties.Just about every artist of note passed through the label during the seventies . Well Charged was the name of the Hookims' sound system and was also the name of their most successful record label. We have put together a selection of material that reflects the different Channel One styles of singers deejays and instrumentals with songs by Leroy Smart, The Wailing Souls, John Holt, Ernest Wilson and Earth & Stone, deejay cuts by Trinity and I Roy and instrumentals and versions by the legendary Revolutionaries. This is a first class release. Nearly all the music is mastered from original master tapes and the sound quality is fantastic.
